DESCRIPTION
On a plinth with engravings, Lord Karttikeya, a tall and attractive figure, stands. He is known as chaturbhujadhari, or the person with four arms (‘chatur’). All of His hands, however, carry weapons for the enduring conflict with adharma, with the exception of the right anterior hand, which is lifted in blessing. He is the brother of Ganesha and the son of Shiva and Parvati, he is known as Murugan in South India.
This statue is made of dual tone where the lord’s body is made of his complexion black while the garments, ornaments and accessories are in muted gold.
